Privacy Policy

Oliver: Provable Witness ("Oliver", "we", "our", or "the app") is developed by Kuip Limited. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our application.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Media Data
Oliver captures and processes photos, videos, and audio recordings that you choose to create or import. This media is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers unless you explicitly choose to export or share it.
1.2 Sensor Data
When you use the capture feature, Oliver may collect:
- GPS location data (latitude, longitude, altitude)
- Compass heading data
- Accelerometer readings
This sensor data is embedded into the cryptographic hash chain alongside your media to provide a verifiable record of capture conditions. Sensor data is stored locally on your device.
1.3 Cryptographic Data
Oliver generates SHA3-256 hash chains and C2PA manifests for your media. These cryptographic proofs are computed and stored locally on your device.
1.4 C2PA Creator Information
If you choose to configure C2PA settings, you may provide your name, organization, website, and email. This information is embedded into C2PA manifests attached to your media and is only shared when you export or share your media files.
1.5 Google Account Information
If you choose to use Google Drive integration, Oliver will request access to your Google account to upload .oliver packages. We only access the permissions necessary for file upload and do not access other Google account data.
1.6 TrueDepth and LiDAR Data
Oliver uses TrueDepth and LiDAR to help prove that a captured image or 3D record is not merely a photograph of a flat surface. On supported devices, Oliver uses LiDAR for back-camera 3D capture and TrueDepth for front-camera 3D capture. The purpose of this feature is to help users create evidence that is harder to dispute, including evidence that a capture was authentically made rather than faked by photographing an existing photo or screen.
Like all data created or imported into Oliver, TrueDepth and LiDAR data remains only in the user's possession on their device unless the user explicitly chooses to export it, share it, or sync it to their Google Drive account. Oliver and its creators do not send this data to servers they operate, and do not otherwise disclose it to third parties except through user-initiated export, sharing, or backup.
Oliver does not use this data for face recognition, identity verification, advertising, profiling, or user tracking.
This data is stored locally on your device as part of the proof you create, and it is retained until you delete it, delete the app, or explicitly export, share, or back it up using a third-party service such as Google Drive. If you export, share, or back up the proof, the included face-related data may be included in that exported material.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information collected solely to:
- Generate cryptographic hash chains for your media
- Create and embed C2PA content credentials
- Verify the integrity and authenticity of your media
- Enable export and sharing of verified media packages
- Upload files to Google Drive when you explicitly request it
3. Data Storage and Processing
All media processing, hashing, and verification happens locally on your device. Oliver and its creators do not maintain external servers or backend services that process or store the media, documents, proofs, or sensor data you create with or import into the app. Your data remains under your control unless you explicitly export, share, or back it up through a third-party service.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties. Your media and associated data are only shared when you explicitly choose to:
- Export an .oliver package
- Share media through the system share sheet
- Upload to Google Drive
5. Data Retention
Your data is stored locally on your device for as long as you choose to keep it. You can delete any asset and its associated data at any time from within the app. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data, and that deletion may be irreversible unless you have separately exported or backed up your files.
6. Children's Privacy
Oliver is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
7. Your Rights
Since your data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it at all times. You can:
- View all stored assets and their metadata within the app
- Delete any asset and its associated data
- Export your data in .oliver format
- Remove the app and all associated data from your device
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
